AUSTRALIA NETWORK OFFERS MALAYSIA A DIFFERENT VIEW

April 10, 2008: Australia Network today launched in Malaysia on Astro offering viewers credible news and current affairs, world class documentaries, unique entertainment, sporting and children’s programs as well as the Network’s renowned English language learning programs.

Providing ‘a different view’ for television viewers in Asia, Pacific and the India subcontinent, Australia Network will offer Malaysian viewers a broad range of Australian-made content from award winning dramas – such as McLeod’s Daughters, All Saints and Home and Away – to Super 14s Rugby, Study English, an acknowledged leader in its category, and news and current affairs.

Available on Channel 514, the Australia Network’s flagship news program will be NewsHour with Jim Middleton. Hosted by one of Australia’s most experienced journalists, the show will focus on events of the day, in-depth panel discussions with key commentators and experts exploring the issues and perspectives of Australian and Asia Pacific region
